SMPS with UC3845 - All About Circuits
I made a simple smps with uc3845. The output of the ic is connected to IRF840 and a EE30_15_7 ferrite transformer wound by me. The osc section seems to be working. Vcc supplied is 16.5 v Pin 1 connected to opto coupler pin 2 to GND Pin 3 to the 0.47ohm resister connected between Mosfet...

I want to turn a Boost SMPS into the simplest audio power amplifier.
I'm trying to turn a Boost into a Flyback and then into an audio amplifier. Basically I wanted a simple SMPS modulated with an audio signal. I know, you will say that the class D amplifier is also an SMPS, but the class D amplifier needs at least 2 power transistors + a large...

SMPS with UC3845 | Page 3 | All About Circuits
For the SMPS stuff, a 100MHz CRO is usually good enough and there are some newer CROs around that have mutlichannel digital inputs you can use for all manner of digital circuit tests and measurements as well as logic and protocol analyser type functions and at far higher frequencies than 100MHz.

Providing the earth ground to the DC output of SMPS
Prior to making a solid connection between the SMPS negative output terminal and "actual earth ground." I suggest measuring the voltage between those two points.

How to modify a switch mode power supply. | All About Circuits
This thread is a carry-over from one that i started earlier on a SMPS that wasn't working. The problem with that supply has been solved and is now working fine. My next project is to build a battery charger using that supply, only problem is the output is +31.5 volts DC which is far too high for...

SMPS set to output 12.81V (it is laptop 20V power supply), but it ...
I have an SMPS set to output 12.81V (it is laptop 20V power supply), but it fluctuates between 12.2V and 12.8V at idle, which is around 6%. It stabilizes at 12.81V under a load, I tested it on 1.5A. Is this kind of fluctuation acceptable for an SMPS on idle, and could it potentially damage the...

about Power Factor Correction - All About Circuits
PFC is a circuit which corrects the current and voltage phase shifts to increase efficiency and it provides 360v or 400v at its output which eliminates the line regulation for the SMPS circuit and also some PFC cancels out input harmonics/noise to improve power factor. We took television power...

Designing flyback transformer for SMPS | All About Circuits
hello, I was trying to build SMPS using switching ic's UC3845 or HVLED007 but ending with less current delivery or poor power factor might be due to improper flyback transformer design. the thing is i don't have the bobbin , core datasheet were i can get all the specs currently i have...

Repairing Switched Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) - All About Circuits
Very often when I attempt to repair electronic devices, either mine or from friends, I find out the problem is with the power supply which these days is most often a Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS). Most of them are flyback, regulated, SMPS (but not all!). In this post I will be discussing...
