100 mph winds overnight in Rapid City; blizzard developing east
Good morning KELOLAND. We are following several breaking weather headlines across the region. 100mph winds have created numerous reports of damage in and around Rapid City. Several communities West River have reported winds over 80mph this morning.
This wind event is expected to create gusts of up to 100 mph in some places and has already caused damage in multiple areas across Colorado.

Social media accounts from across much of the state featured dramatic photos of flattened trees, blown-over semitrucks, and impacted vehicles. Utility companies reported widespread power outages from northwest Montana to Livingston; on Wednesday afternoon the Flathead Electric Cooperative alone reported 30,625 customers without power.
