Netflix's bet on a theatrical release for the "Stranger Things" series finale is looking like it will pay off, at least according to AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, who teased that the theater chain would be ending on a high with a massive turnout for the event.
Aron emphasized that there’s “many sellouts but seats still available” for the two-day Netflix stunt which starts tonight; another means of peace between the exhibitor and the streamer following the Halloween booking of Kpop Demon Hunters Singalong.
Netflix’s bid to own Warner Bros. has rattled cinema chains and unions, who fear the company will push for shorter theatrical windows.
