UK government officials said they had "lost confidence" in the outgoing chief constable as a result of the scandal.
The Chief Constable of West Midlands Police in the United Kingdom has apologised to members of parliament after admitting that a major policing decision had been made "as result of a use of Microsoft Co Pilot [sic]".
Downing Street has said it no longer has confidence in West Midlands Police Chief Constable Craig Guildford, echoing comments made in the Commons on Wednesday by the home secretary.
